Robin Hoffman and Jodi Stiffelman of ArtScapades will discuss the work of three artists who were working in Harlem at the height of The Harlem Renaissance: William H. Johnson, Romaire Bearden and Jacob Lawrence, each of whom focused their art on African American culture and daily life in Harlem.
Robin Hoffman and Jodi Stiffelman, of ArtScapades, began teaching art appreciation in 1998 in Connecticut in the New Canaan public school system. By popular demand, in 2010 they began sharing their knowledge with adults who wanted to learn the basics of art to further their education and to make museum trips more enjoyable. Robin and Jodi have given presentations at museums, retirement communities, charitable organizations, and libraries throughout the area. Their lectures at libraries are a wonderful way to complement the library’s art book and video collections. In addition, Robin and Jodi offer guided tours in museums within the New York Metropolitan area that can look at important works in a collection, or that can be a general walk-through of the collections to help you feel comfortable walking around and making your own discoveries.
