Program Description

Event Details

Researching ancestors who faced financial hardship requires a strategic approach and a review of less familiar records. We explore their lives through town minutes, almshouse, sheriff, charity, legal, and financial records, as well as indirect clues like crop prices and wage changes that help explain their struggles.

Presenter Bio:

Pam Vestal is a professional genealogist and speaker who shifted her focus to her lifelong passion for genealogy after a 20-year career in writing. Her articles have appeared in the Association of Professional Genealogists Quarterly and the FGS's Forum magazine, and her lectures take her from coast to coast.
