Artists have employed illusions to create visual expressions that have allured viewers for centuries. Trompe l’oeil, French for 'deceive the eye’ continues to be an art technique that can mean many things. Be prepared to be tricked and enjoy uncovering the illusions. Presented by Paul Neumann.
Paul Neumann has worked at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Frick Collection. He has a BFA in Sculpture and Mixed Media from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Masters in Museum Studies from Georgetown University. He was previously the Acting Executive Director at Pleasant Home, a historic house in Illinois. He was a consultant for the Richard H. Driehaus Museum, a restored Gilded Age mansion in Chicago. Currently, Paul works as the Learning Programs Coordinator at the Chicago Architecture Center.
